Weddings at Sea

Love is in the air and the water! Cruise ships are ready, willing and able to fulfill your romantic dreams. Cruise lines can arrange weddings, wedding vow renewals, anniversary celebrations and more. Most shipboard weddings are usually officiated while in port. Princess Cruises is the only line in which a captain can officiate over a wedding ceremony while at sea. Walk down the aisle aboard a magnificent cruise ship or say your vows on tropical island and pay a fraction of the cost of a traditional wedding. Thousands of couples are married aboard cruise ships each year and that number is growing with the popularity of the cruise vacation experience.

Cruise lines are offering highly flexible wedding packages for marriage or renewal of vows, with features including candlelit wedding chapels, photographers, bridal bouquets, wedding cakes, champagne toasts with keepsake flutes and much more. The cruise lines’ destination wedding packages enable couples to marry in ports of call around the globe, from Caribbean beachside ceremonies and marriages on rooftop villas in Europe to more adventurous venues like the peaks of Alaskan glaciers.

Couples can opt to dine on their private balconies while gazing at the ocean or reserve tables for two at intimate, celebrity-designed venues. They can enjoy chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne in their staterooms, strolls under moonlit, star-filled skies along promenade decks and indulge in massages for two.

Because cruises are, by nature, virtually all-inclusive, they offer an incredibly convenient way in which to celebrate a wedding, honeymoon or vow renewal — or simply reconnect and revitalize romantic relationships.

Carnival has seen a huge increase in the number of couples who marry aboard the line's "Fun Ships." The line attributes this increase to the convenience and affordability provided by Carnival's wedding packages which start at $750. Carnival weddings are romantic and fun!

Weddings aboard Disney Cruise Line’s two ships are arranged through Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings program, which includes on-site wedding coordinators to assist with ceremonies and receptions. The wedding coordinator can also assist in booking shore excursions and spa appointments for couples. Passengers can also tie the knot on the line’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Holland America offers a myriad of romantic spots on land to say "I do," it also features a very atmospheric spot for renewal of wedding vows. The line's private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay is home to a non-denominational Bahamian chapel which overlooks and sea and seats 20 guests. After the renewal ceremony, champagne is served and couples are photographed with the ship and sea in the background.
