Disney Cruise Vacation Guide

Disney Cruise Vacation

Take to the sea with Disney Cruise Line

Disney offers one of the most unique cruise experiences afloat. The magic begins the moment you step aboard a Disney cruise ship.

Disney has introduced a number of innovations such as cabins with a bath-and-a-half and a rotating dining room schedule in which passengers eat at three different restaurants.

On board, adults find excitement. Children have the time of their lives. Families unite. Honeymooners sail into fairy tale beginnings. Something special for everyone on every voyage.

The ships are family-friendly offering the elaborate Walt Disney Theater, three pools, spa with a rain forest steam room, Oceaneer Club and a coffeehouse just for teens. Separate areas and activities for adults, kids, and teens invite everyone to discover their own kind of fun and relaxation.

Each Disney cruise ship features nearly an entire deck that is dedicated just to kids where they can enjoy fun, supervised activities designed especially for different age groups. What Disney ships don't have are casinos or libraries.

Disney has tried to think of everything to make your vacation a truly magical one. With Disney Cruise Line vacation packages, you'll find that one check-in covers your whole trip; Disney will transport your bags every step of the way and arrange all onboard activities, meals, and entertainment.

What makes a Disney Cruise special?

Spacious Staterooms: The 83,000-ton, 2,400-guest Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are sister ships. Staterooms sleep three, four or five guests. An amazing 73% of Disney's staterooms are oceanview. Most of the staterooms also feature an industry first - a bathroom and a half, with separate facilities that allow bathrooms to be used by more than one person at a time.

Itineraries: Both ships are based in Port Canaveral. Disney Magic sails seven-night Caribbean trips (alternating Eastern and Western) for most of the year and Disney Wonder handles three- and four-day trips to the Bahamas. Disney also offers a 7-night Land and Sea Vacation that combines a Walt Disney World stay with a Bahamian cruise.

Castaway Cay: Every Disney cruise includes a special visit to Disney's very own private island. The 1,000-acre Castaway Cay, featuring white-sand beaches and activities for every member of the family, is located in the Bahamas and exists exclusively for the use of Disney Cruise Line guests. The ship docks right at the island, allowing guests to walk directly ashore.

Separate beaches are available for teens, families, and kids. Secluded Serenity Bay is reserved exclusively for adults. A wide range of fun-filled activities is available to guests both young and old, including swimming, snorkeling, sailing, and sea kayaking. Bicycle rentals, snorkel equipment rentals, parasailing, and banana boat rides are also offered.

Disney Cruise for Adults

No vacation would be complete without a little time just for yourself. From massage cabanas to the first comedy club at sea to quiet stretches of sun-dappled beach, a Disney cruise vacation gives you many ways to rekindle the magic in you.

Adult Fun
~Beat Street on Disney's Magic and Route 66 on Disney's Wonder is an entire nighttime entertainment district offering three themed clubs for adult fun, from live music and dancing to improvisational comedy, to an intimate jazz club.
~ Palo - Exquisite adult-exclusive dining in an elegant, romantic restaurant high atop the ship.
~ Serenity Bay - An adult beach on Castaway Cay is the perfect place to truly relax on this ultimate vacation.
~ The Vista Spa & Salon - Offering invigorating workouts and pampering treatments such as facials and massages.

From laughs to cocktails, soft piano melodies to rock 'n' roll, Disney Cruise Line has got just the place -- a district of nightclubs with something for everyone. Maybe you'll schedule a spa treatment at the Vista Spa & Salon. Or head to the Wide World of Sports Deck for a game of pick-up basketball. Then over to the Quiet Cove Pool for some adults-only down time.

Disney Cruise for Kids

With almost an entire deck devoted to age-specific children's programs, your kids will be practically begging to join the fun at Disney's Oceaneer Club or Disney's Oceaneer Lab each day. And an unusually high counsellors-to-kids ratio means your kids get tons of that famous Disney one-on-one attention with their creative play. On Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, kids have their own beach filled with supervised fun at Scuttles Cove.

Disney Cruise for Teens

Imagine a New York-style coffeehouse with music, games, large-screen TV, lounge area, coffee bar, and shipboard programs like photography, movie-making, and improvisational comedy - that's Aloft on the Disney Wonder or the Stack on the Disney Magic, where teens aged 13 to 17 have their own hangout.

On Castaway Cay teens can snorkel, bike, and kayak with their friends in teens-only parts of Disney's Castaway Cay, or join in other fun team activities, like building and racing a seaworthy vessel.

Prior to sailing: Go online to reserve shore excursions, a table at the adults-only Palo restaurant, and babysitting in the nursery. Children can also be pre-registered for youth programs, and adults can make spa appointments.
